Children from the Santa Clarita Valley can get free meals through the end of the summer at SCVi/iLEAD Charter School in Santa Clarita, with no need to be enrolled there.
As a participant in the USDA Summer Meal Program, SCVi is distributing free “grab-and-go” meals to children 1-18 years old through August 21, according to the website.
Between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. Monday through Friday, breakfast and lunch can be picked up at the same time at SCVi’s campus at 28060 Hasley Canyon Road in Castaic.
Face coverings are a requirement to participate, and in an effort to keep the contact between staff and families minimal, families are being asked to stop in front of the SCVi Cafe, where their meals will be brought out.
Meals are expected to be left on a cart so families can load them into their cars themselves.
Because of an increased demand for weekend meals, Friday meals are available for pickup on Thursdays, and Saturday/Sunday meals are available on Fridays.
