IB News

The aim of the IB program is to develop internationally minded people who, recognizing their common humanity and shared guardianship of the planet, help to create a better and more peaceful world.

IB learners are characterized by striving to meet the nine learning attributes set out by the International Baccalaureate Organization. In all of our IB classes at SCVi, we nurture these qualities in our learners. With the senior mock exams having taken place last week, there has been an inevitable focus on the qualities of being inquiring and knowledgeable. We aim to equip learners with the in-depth knowledge that they need to succeed, but we also aim to nurture learners’ curiosity and to develop their skills for research and independent learning. Our different classes all develop critical and creative thinking skills in order to serve all of our learners in the lifelong learning journey. You can discover more about the IB learner profile on their website, www.ibo.org, and at SCVi’s information morning on Tuesday, April 2nd, at 9 a.m. in the Village.

Senior mock exams have now finished. The facilitators will use these to identify what learners now need to succeed in the May exams. The assessment calendar is available here so that you can track the deadlines for internal assessment.

The schedules and all of the necessary information on exam conduct has been emailed to learners and parents. Please let me know if you need me to send this information again: abbie.neall@scvi-k12.org.

On Thursday, there will be the Spanish oral examination which is recorded and sent to examiners across the globe.
