‘Change Sings’ on Lower Campus

On Friday, learners from 2nd and 3rd grade participated in a special Black History Month celebration organized by two of our wonderful SCVi parents. Outside on the play yard, learners were treated to a read-aloud story, “Change Sings” by National Youth Poet Laureate Amanda Gorman. The book was introduced and read by Tawanna Aimiuwu, NAACP education committee co-chair for the Santa Clarita Valley chapter of the NAACP. Following the story, learners were led in an interactive drum circle, thanks to a loan of instruments from the Remo drum company.

Our sincere gratitude goes to Mahesha Anderson and Lindsey Kahn for organizing the celebration.
