SCVi’s Upper School (grades 9-12) is adding two new pathways to its Career Technical Education program:
- Art
- Remote Pilot Certification
Career and technical education (CTE) curriculum prepares students for a wide range of high-wage, high-skill, high-demand careers, and SCVi has been building its CTE program to prepare learners for careers in the Arts and Engineering.
The new Art Pathway expands our learners’ skills, technical knowledge, and professional know-how in fields of traditional and digital art. Learners will jump-start their careers by discovering a variety of business opportunities, build portfolios for college admissions and careers, and learn to manage themselves as independent artists.
The new Remote Pilot Pathway combines aviation and engineering to prepare learners for both self-employment and industry drone piloting careers, as well as other careers in aviation, aeronautics, entertainment, and more. Learners will work toward a Part 107 license to enable them to fly drones outdoors in professional settings. Also, much of the work in Part 107 is directly relevant to those wishing to pursue a commercial or private pilot’s license.
These two new pathways toward popular careers join our existing pathways in Stage & Technical Management, Performing Arts, Gaming & VR Production, and Theme Park Design.
