Hello SCVi Families and Friends,
We are so proud of our high school seniors. They have demonstrated initiative, compassion, grit, social and emotional development and a real understanding of the world around them. The majority of our high school seniors are headed toward higher education. Some of our learners will be heading to school in other parts of the country, while many will work and attend school locally at College of the Canyons.
The transition from high school to college can be daunting. Many of us remember the first trip to visit our new college campus to establish housing, tour, purchase books and other necessities. We remember trying to navigate a campus which seemed Herculean and we were at a loss for a short amount of time, trying to organize and put it all into perspective.
Whether our learners are preparing to transition to college, move on to a new facilitator, or simply move grade levels, we must be mindful of the emotions associated with change. Our learners spend more time on average at school than at home. We will continue to partner with our learners and you to make the post-summer transition and exciting one!
