Because there are several holidays that fall on Monday this semester, we want to be sure to provide all learners with the instruction that would otherwise be missed on those Mondays. These holidays are observed on the following remaining weeks:
- April 12
- May 31
Plan for Monday Holiday Weeks
Lower School & Middle School, grades TK-8
On all weeks that school is closed on Monday to observe holidays, Lower School, grades TK-8, learners that regularly receive distant learning instruction on Mondays will be asked to join and attend the Tuesday instruction while we continue in distance learning (unless requested otherwise by your child’s facilitator). Once we are able to return to campus following state and county guidelines through the hybrid program, we will readdress this schedule as the opportunity approaches, possibly moving the regularly scheduled Monday instruction to Fridays.
Dual Immersion Program, grades K-2
Learners in the Dual Immersion Program grades K-2 will receive distant learning instruction on Tues/Thurs and Weds/Fri (rather than Mon/Weds) on the weeks with a Monday holiday. The regularly scheduled Friday Cultural Class will be replaced by Monday cohort direct instruction.
Upper School, grades 9-12
On all weeks that school is closed on Monday to observe holidays, Upper School will move from a Mon-Thurs direct instructional schedule to Tues-Friday instructional schedule.
Also know that we are continuing to follow all state and county guidelines closely as we refine our school site plan putting procedures in place for reopening the campus safely once it’s deemed appropriate to do so. We are working carefully as we anticipate the return to campus while still maintaining that our county remains under strict orders due to the extremely high number of Covid-19 cases in Los Angeles County. Your family will also still have the same choice to remain in distant learning, should we be deemed safe to return to campus in the hybrid program. We will continue to keep you informed with all plans as soon as possible to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to plan for any upcoming changes to daily schedules.
We appreciate your continued support as partners in your children’s education. We believe that although there is great concern for possible learning loss, our facilitators have been and will continue to provide a solid and comprehensive learning program to ensure that your children continue learning while we all continue to save lives by staying at home together.
