We understand that we’re different here at SCVi! Some terminology that we use has become second nature to those that have been part of the team for years, while some of you newly onboard may be shaking your heads wondering what we’re talking about. We hope to inform you weekly a little bit about our culture and terminology to help guide you through your time here at SCVi.
This week: ILPs.
As part of iLEAD’s philosophy of providing a personalized approach to learning for every child, setting goals at the beginning of the school year is very important. Your child’s facilitator or advisor will be scheduling an ILP (Individualized Learning Plan) meeting with you in September. Lower School learners will schedule with their facilitators and Upper School Learners will schedule their ILPs with their advisor.
The purpose of this time is to allow the learners, themselves, to focus on their own personal growth and what they want to achieve both academically and socially-emotionally this school year. At their ILP, the learners will set goals and create a plan of action to achieve those goals. While we understand that it is difficult for some parents to take the time away from work to attend, we encourage you to reach out to your child’s facilitator to find a time that works for you and your family. With family support of setting goals, our learners can achieve anything!
