MAP Tests Begin Next Week; First Up: Upper School
During the next two weeks, SCVi learners will take Measures of Academic Progress® (MAP®) assessments. We give students MAP assessments to determine your child’s instructional level and to measure academic growth throughout the school year, and from year to year in the areas of English and math. Your child will take the tests on a computer.
MAP tests are unique in that they adapt to be appropriate for your child’s level of learning. As a result, each student has the same opportunity to succeed and maintain a positive attitude toward testing. And with MAP tests, we can administer shorter tests and use less class time while still receiving detailed, accurate information about your child’s growth.
Learners take MAP tests three times during the year to see progress, as well as ascertain areas to focus on for your learner’s individual needs. Results will be distributed during your learner’s ILP (Individual Learner Plan) meetings and will help us make more focused goals for your learner.
Next Week Upper School will Test.
