Staff Spotlight: Emily Strickland
This month, we are featuring our SCVi Exploration program, or Homestudy, as some call it. Emily Strickland has been working with SCVi Exploration since 2015. She’s a graduate from Tusculum College in Greeneville, Tennessee, where she earned a B.A. in Biology/Medical Pre-Professional and, while there, played played soccer and tennis on scholarship.
Prior to relocating to California, she taught Physical Science and Biology at the high school and middle school levels in Florida.
SCVi’s Exploration program gives parents the flexibility to spend more time with their children exploring and learning about the world around them. Emily loves her job and the ability to see SCVi families grow, strengthen, and become key contributors to the community.
Emily still loves to play soccer, tennis, and enjoys running. She and her husband of 22 years have three teenage children. She also loves to make pretty much anything! Emily’s recent projects include building picture frames and building a backyard deck. Emily is excited to use her newfound relationship with the College of the Canyons (COC) Makery, to share her passion with learners so they can make their own fun designs and projects.
