Staff Spotlight: Ethan Norof
In this week’s Staff Spotlight, we’d like to introduce you to Ethan Norof, our middle school Innovation Studios guide. Ethan will be working alongside Emilie Evenson to oversee the middle school program, as our Innovation Studios program continues to grow and flourish.
While Ethan is new to SCVi this year, he has been with iLEAD Schools for several years. He was previously at iLEAD Encino as a middle school math and science facilitator. He is a graduate from the University of Massachusetts (Amherst), and worked for Turner Sports as well as NBC Sports prior to returning to Cal State LA to pursue his multi-subject teaching credential. Prior to attending college, he worked through his teen years as a camp counselor and little league coach.
His strengths are in social-emotional learning, building meaningful relationships, accountability, transparency, and systems. He is big on perspective, short on excuses, and committed to fostering a personalized learning approach for each and every one of our learners.
His favorite part of working with Innovation Studios is the way the program can be truly unique to the learner, not following a rigid structure. Innovation Studios allows the learners to mesh the learning they do into what they themselves are passionate about.
