The Maker Movement at SCVi
Did You Know… iLEAD SCVi has three Makeries
and an outdoor Creator play space?
“The Maker Movement celebrates kids, and allows them to utilize their imagination where they are free to create fiercely without fear of judgment.”
– Time Magazine
The Maker Movement is based on traditions and values in which the rewards of doing, building and creating prevail over simply buying a product.
Becoming a “maker” enhances learning, putting learners’ creativity and imagination in action, combining mental knowledge with the physical application of creating something. Rather than reading answers, learners in the maker movement transition from being passive users to active creators.
At SCVi we value the opportunity to give our learners access to age-appropriate hand and electric tools, technology and other media to tap into their entrepreneurial and creative sides. All of this will help create a generation of learners who are empowered and confident in their ability to conquer challenges!
